Trailers and Teasers – Innkeeper Interaction

$

0

Here’s a new feature that a few NPCs will have in the future. It has a 25% chance of firing so it ideally won’t happen every time you visit an inn, but I may lower the percentage if it’s too frequent. After the idle fires, the NPCs will randomly select from about 10 or more responses, some conditioned by the time of day. For instance, Alassea won’t order an ale in the morning, but Skjarn won’t care.

Who gets it mostly depends on the availability of the actor. That and more unique combat dialogue is the current priority, as well as getting rid of the current placeholder audio for NPCs like Yushari.

Here is some fan art from our friends in the Far East, or the Far West, depending on which way you are facing. These are courtesy of Cryptosporus_tes aka Kinokosan, whose friend Sifka is in charge of the Japanese translation project and has also made numerous contributions to the Wiki. The drawings are awesome, and I’m sure the text is hilarious and enlightening and hopefully doesn’t imply that Hitler had some good ideas.

Rumarin fans will also be pleased to hear that Jay may be soon upgrading his mic situation and is willing to redo 7,383,177,029 of his lines. That is dedication to the craft, my friends.

UPDATE:  The original post featured two additional images, but the artist has asked that I remove the pictures and links to her PIXIV profile, so I have. Apologies as I assumed they were public.

Trailers and Teasers – Rewriting, Recasting, and Re-muting

This video shows a few extra tweaks I want to implement for the next update. Previously, the console could be used to mute NPCs, but now they’ll be given a vanilla voice type and turned into clutter. All scenes involving the NPCs will also be turned off as well.

Creation Kit – Combat AI

RUMARINOne of the consequences of my complete lack of modding experience is that NPCs don’t always work as intended. Some things you can write around, but not stuff that is essential to their character. Typically, the Creation Kit is such that even a novice can figure shit out. Want someone to cast a spell? Just tab over to the SpellList section and add your magic of choice.

The problem is, that doesn’t work for support spells, and doesn’t always work for bound weapons. As a result, Rumarin and Valgus, two of the more prominent followers, never really acted in the way their stories would indicate.

Thankfully, with an assist from Vidalia – who pointed me to Natalie the Healer, and Madcat221 who made me realize bound swords are actually normal weapons + textures, I learned a few things:

1) Support spells can be added via AI packages – the same used to sandbox or sit down in a chair, you just have to make them override combat.
2) Bound weapons can be added to an NPC’s inventory(in the alias so they can’t be stolen) and used in place of spells.

So Valgus and Rumarin will function more or less as they are intended, although there are a few things that still need to be ironed out (Rumarin’s combat audio is also a little tinny in the video, Jay’s getting a new mic so it should rectify that – maybe not for v3.03, but v3.04 for sure).

Rumarin will still occasionally use an invisible blade, no idea why, and Valgus won’t use up any magicka. He’ll use the HealOther spell if you’re within range and if your health is less than 40%, so he won’t spam the motherfucker or anything like that. As I mentioned previously, he’ll also have combat dialogue that better suits his character, but I’m not sure if it’ll make the next version.

3DNPC v3.03

2013-11-19_00018

The main file is actually smaller for v3.03 than v3.02. The reason for this is I included some work files – the original uncompressed voice files for Tikrid – in the previous version. They can be found in the TIkridVoice folder of v3.02, and can be deleted or kept and framed for prosperity, provided you have a printer that can print sound. In any case, here are the releases and notes:

3DNPC v3.03 Main File – Full Download [Torrent - 1.7GB]

UPDATE ONLY – v3.02 to v3.03 – For those who already have v3.02 installed. – 140 MB.

HF PATCH v3.03 – For Hearthfire Users. Dawnguard update not necessary as no new vampires were introduced in v3.03.

Main Additions
• Rumarin will now use dual bound blades and a bound bow
• Valgus heals the player when health under 40% and he is within 512 units. He will also heal you post-battle if your health is low once every 12 hours, for immersion purposes only.
• Random innkeeper interaction with Alassea, Morndas, and Amalee
• New NPC Mannequin available upon completion of the House on the Hill (voiced by J.T. Decker)
• New voice for Zajhirra and Hagravi (voiced by J.T. Decker)
• Additional combat and commentary lines for Hjoromir, Alassea, Rumarin, Dagri’lon, Zora, Morndas, and Valgus

Silent Additions (setstage 3DNPCenable 1)
• New Dark Elf Archer/Follower, Meresine. One of Zajhirra’s random hellos will point you to her.

Tweaks
• “Setstage DialogueNPCName 500″ will now turn mod NPCs into vanilla NPCs, and fail any related quests. Previously the console command muted the NPC as opposed to making them vanilla.
• Split monologues and re-arranged much of Jerulith and Frik’s dialogue for shorter replies
• Raised volume on Drelas and Jaspar
• Moved Iria’s start point to the Hall of the Dead until PC speaks to her at least once
• Cassock’s victims will now have urns in the Hall of the Dead

Fixes
• Alassea or other Marriage Issues – It seems when I make an existing NPC marry-able it doesn’t register on old saves. Added an extra script to add them to the “potentialmarriagefaction” just in case, and attached to the proposal line.
• Alassea post-marriage song related dialogue not connected
• Spell it Out for Me – In older saves, NPC not dying due to previously being set as “protected.”
• Alassea not playing Warrior’s Life – Unlocking Tears of the Hist is an improper condition.
• Iria looping “What can a corpse tell you…” question
• Fironet and Rinori’s audio had too much treble
• Bodan missing an audio file for scene if PC is not a member of the Companions.
• Alisen not playing “Age of Aggression”

Six Degrees of NPCs

$
0
0

Untitled-5When people wonder why the mod isn’t modular, well, the answer is simple. Everything is connected. Quests, NPCs, books – a lot of the auxiliary content blurs into disparate sections, often in ways that can’t be separated into neat little pieces.

In fact, given how cozy everyone is with each other, you can probably tie together most NPCs through a handful of Kevin Bacons. Of course, if you’re wondering who the Kevin Baconiest character in the mod is, the fatty crown would likely go to that most affable of companions, Rumarin.

With the Elf, even someone as isolated as Kianna is only separated by three degrees. Rumarin interacts with Mugnor, who would’ve been a colleague of the slain apprentice Borvir, who used Journeyman’s Nook with Kianna.

The web gets slightly more tangled when you choose NPCs at random, but they can still be linked. Iria and Viranya, for instance, can be tied together in 4 degrees.

Iria –> Danica Pure-Spring –> Melea Entius –> Jerulith —> Viranya.

Iria and Danica are priestesses of Kynareth, where Melea went to seek a healer, who shares Dead Man’s Drink with Jerulith, who is Viranya’s old friend.

Let’s try the same with NPCs that share the same voice, like Nelos and Leifan, who are voiced by Corey Hall but couldn’t be more different. Typically, it’s easier to work from the lesser known character, given their limited associations. Leifan makes reference to most of the NPCs in Rorikstead, in particular the former Stormcloak Sonja. Sonja once spoke to Larsdon about the perils of Orphan Rock, who hired Rumarin as a mercenary in the Blood of Kings, who was inspired by Olivia to learn a new spell, who is the chief adversary of Nelos.

See? In the end, the shortest route always goes through Rumarin. Kevin Pork Strips ain’t got nothing on him.

Trailers and Teasers – Meresine

Here is Elisabeth Hunter voicing the newest follower, Meresine. The pie chart I made a few posts back revealed that the mod lacked a Dunmer female follower — I mean, it lacks a lot of things in terms of companions, but an Elf race is something that’s far easier to cast than say, an Orc.

Now it does not lack this thing.

Character Profile – Melea Entius

$

Unlike most cautionary tales, Pandora’s box doesn’t end on a downer. Yes, Pandora’s curiosity got the better of her, and yes, she released all the evils of the world, but despite the horrors she unleashed, the parable ends with mankind gaining the Spirit of Hope.

And that’s precisely how you feel at the end. Hopeful. It’s an emotional onomatopoeia. This, of course, doesn’t change the fact that opening the box was by any objective measurement a shitty thing to do. If Pandora had a do over, she would be a fool not to exercise it, even at the risk of losing hope. Which, if you think about it, is hardly a risk at all. In a utopia, hope is an unthinkable concept. If you have everything, there’s no need to worry about anything. In a just and moral universe, you don’t hope for the best, you get what you deserve.

Hope isn’t a cure for the evils of the world. It’s a symptom.

Melea Entius believes the Divines have a plan for Henrietta. It’s how she makes sense of her impending death and the loss of Indara’s daughter. It’s the only explanation that will suffice, because the alternative – that the world can be a cruel and unjust place – would mean she could never die in peace.

When it comes to Henrietta’s future, Melea doesn’t cling to hope. Not when she has faith.

Unlike hope, faith isn’t a byproduct of despair. If you believe in a divine, infallible architect, what you’re saying is that the “evils of the world” are more or less intended as opposed to an accident. It could be a test of one’s character or resolve, or something so abstruse we can’t comprehend the reasons. Regardless, the belief is that whatever the methodology, those who abide by the plan will be rewarded. Fulfilling one’s hopes is often about taking control. Maintaining one’s faith is about sacrificing it.

This is conflicting for Melea. Her anxiety has shifted from being separated from her daughter in a physical sense – which she now accepts – to losing her identity as Henrietta’s mother. As the years pass on, it’s possible the young child may not remember much of her biological parents. It may even be the will of the Divines that she forget. While Melea knows giving the child away is the right thing to do, she realizes that the more influential Indara is, the less Henrietta will remember her, and struggles with the notion that these feelings are inherently selfish.

Melea has faith that Indara will be a good mother – but in thirty years, will Henrietta feel the same about her biological one? She can only hope.

10,000 Egyptians and 1 Khajiit

2013-11-26_00003About a week ago, a Nexus commenter mentioned that I had literally no standards with regard to recruiting voice talent. Well, that just isn’t true. I did cast a goldfish to play Rongeir initially, but he died during recording. Something about being unable to breathe on dry land. So technically, I do have standards. The actors must be alive. After that, all bets are off.

Still, despite my limited standards, for some reason I seem to have trouble casting female beast roles. I’ve been trying to get a certain actor to voice a Khajiit for almost a year now, with little success. Then came this email:

Untitled-1

Some might call this a joke. Or perhaps a clear message that filling this role is a Sisyphean task. Nevertheless, I am choosing to take this literally, and not in the Nexus commenter’s meaning of the word. I mean literally, literally. After all, this may seem like an impossible task, but I believe the gathering of 10,000 Egyptian souls is nowhere near as difficult as casting female beasts. And I’m going to prove it.

This is a race. Which will happen first, the delivery of 10,000 souls, or the casting of this role? We shall see. Here are the first five:

Soul #1 - This is an Egyptian boy named Billy. He was ahead of his time and predicted the popularity of the name “Billy” for young American boys before the name or America was invented. Unfortunately his drunken ramblings of the future and the rise of something called the “Hokey Pokey” resulted in him being branded a servant of the evil jackal god Set, and was subsequently tortured to death.

Soul #42 - This was a farmer’s daughter named Bahiti, which is Egyptian for “fortune.” Bahiti did indeed earn a fortune by the age of sixteen, by selling her soul to the wealthiest merchant in town.

Soul #955 – This soul was a bit of a voyeur. He would constantly spy on his neighbors. When he wasn’t doing that, he’d spend all afternoon on the roof of his house, studying the passersby go to and from the market. For this reason, many contend he was the world’s first Egyptologist.

Soul #7,143 - This soul is actually one of Egypt’s first celebrities. His name was Fenuku, which I think is Egyptian for “three-nippled.” While Fenuku did not achieve celebrity status during his lifetime, mostly due to his excessive nipple problem, centuries after being mummified he was cast in two separate but unrelated IMAX movies starring The Rock.

Soul #9,999 - This soul belonged to a brother of a Pharoah. His favorite things to say were “Let my people go” and “I’ll give you my slave whip when you pry it from my cold, dead hands.” He would later lead the Jews to freedom, whipping them across the Red Sea. God congratulated him briefly before killing him for having an uncircumcised penis.

5 down, 9,995 to souls to go. Or 1 Khajiit.

2013-11-21_00006Doing wiki pages is probably the toughest part of the mod. The work itself isn’t particularly grueling, but the motivation to do the work is another matter. Still, I want to finish the quest pages that have multiple routes or endings, particularly Stolen Property and Spell it Out for Me. I managed to finish the latter, so anyone who’s confused on how to win Cassock’s game or spare the lives of certain NPCs, I have spelled it out, as it were.

In addition, here are some notes in bullet point format. I dig the bullet point, by the way. It sure beats buying a gun and shooting up my monitor.

• There’s been a lot of Fallout 4 speculation as of late, but regardless of whether it’s real, I think it’s safe to say that the game will be made at some point. As I mentioned before, I’m going to start laying the foundation for a follower, with mostly generic lines until the specifics are released. I may also put out a demo of sorts, playable in Skyrim, which you can download from this blog.

• Thanks to Artisanix for making his Paintings and Frames available for use. I need to scour the mods on Nexus and see what other goodies I can use for quests.

• Speaking of which, a new miscellaneous quest has been added to the Casting Call menu. This one should be easier to cast than the previous one, given how short it is.

Lastly, I’ve been playing around with Meresine for a bit and she’s pretty badass. Elisabeth Hunter, who previously voiced Falatild and a few others, really captures the anger that’s a signature part of her character. Hopefully I can keep fleshing her out in the months to come. Now for some turkey and gravy.

Trailers and Teasers – Fallout 4 Companion

megatonbarHere’s another teaser for Vincent, my Fallout 4 companion. Damien’s recorded about 220 lines in total, and this is just the random hellos and idles, so it’s safe to say that in 2 years or so this motherfucker is going to have a ton of unique shit to say.

Download: vincent_teaser_2.wav

Of course, some of it will have to be scrapped depending on the setting. For instance, references to how hot it is would be worthless if the game is set in some nuclear winter. I also don’t know how good a feel I have for the universe right now, but it is fun to drop an F-bomb or two after modding Skyrim for almost two years.

What I’m looking for I guess is a texture person to give Vincent a unique outfit. I want to make a demo of him as a playable character in Skyrim, but he seems too out of place if he doesn’t have modern clothes and an array of guns. After all, you can toss Spider-Man into Skyrim and it still kind of works, but you couldn’t put a generic Nord in Skyrim, give him Spider-Man’s voice, and expect people to feel like they’re traveling with the web-slinger.

In other mod news, TheDarkPrince alerted me to the existence of the following mod, Evermoor Island by aplestormy, with the idea I could help his team populate it with NPCs and quests. I might take a spin around the island later this week, just for the hell of it. I’ve always wanted my own island to populate with lunar landers and hookers and blackjack.

Eh, or I could just say screw the whole thing. We’ll see.

rumarin___interesting_npcs_by_sanguithar-d6swr2c (1)I love fan art. When someone cares enough to sketch one of your characters, well, that’s rewarding in a touchy, feely kind of way. That’s the universe humming softly, the radio picking up good vibrations.

Here’s Rumarin by Sanguithar, a Swedish artist and from what I understand a slayer of dragons. She’s also my newest favorite person in the world, in a tie for first place with everyone else who’s played, supported, and contributed to the mod along the way.

Creation Kit – Random Clothing

$
0
0

asteria_clothesIt’s funny to say now, given my wardrobe consists of a three-year old pair of jeans, an old hoodie, and a bunch of vacation T-shirts my parents donated to me like a homeless person, but I used to have five separate outfits, one for each day of the school week.

Unlike business attire – where you’re basically swapping five different colored dress shirts – high school wardrobes are managed like a pitching rotation in baseball. You have your aces (the clothes you look your best in), your dependable innings eater (the clothes that aren’t flashy, but get the job done), and your back of the rotation outfits that you only wear because you can’t wear your best outfit twice.

In order to simulate this in Skyrim, I’ve chosen to give many NPCs random outfits. For example, Asteria in the picture on the left is wearing what most would identify as “The Ysolda,” whereas if given the choice, I would prefer she wear the dress on the right, or any variation without the plunging neckline. Of course, for the sake of realism, the hope was that over multiple meetings, you would see all the various outfits, with the NPCs ostensibly rotating their wardrobe the same way we do. However, upon further inspection, it seems that whatever outfit is loaded when you start the game stays for the duration.

Which is why, when given the choice, Bethesda probably decided it was best to give each NPC a set outfit. Randomizing clothing not only heightens the chance of a mismatched look, but also the awkward situation of showing up to fourth period wearing the same thing as that copycat Tracy, and you know that bitch isn’t gonna change.

As for the mod NPCs, I’m not sure I need to revert back to unique outfits just yet. For one, I think they’re spread out in ways that similar outfits rarely clash, and you still get different clothes on different playthroughs. But, if you spot two people wearing the same dress to the same party, let me know and I’ll see what I can do.

Meet the Actor – Ronja Monto (Merrigan)

$

2013-12-05_00003Introduce yourself as much as you are willing. You know, name, age, location, belly button type, whether you snore in your sleep.
Ohi there. I’m Merrigan, I voice Alassea and Rosalind in Interesting NPC’s. I am 24 years old, I live in frozen Finland. My belly button is an innie, and I do not snore in my sleep.

Tell everyone a little about yourself, what acting experience you have, and what your goals are if any.
To be honest, the only acting experience I have is taking a few drama classes in elementary school, but I find voice acting extremely fun, especially when voicing a character like Alassea who is so dramatically different from myself.

Music is more of my thing, and even then I’m still very much a beginner. I’d like to one day polish up my playing and singing skills enough to release a CD, but that day is still far away.

How did you find out about the mod project?
I was whining to a friend about how dull and lifeless NPC’s in Skyrim were. It was like the Dragonborn was the only actual person in the world, and everyone around her was a robot. (Eerie thought, I know!) So my friend helpfully mentioned this mod, and so I was hooked.

Would you rather be a marginally good chess player or a world tic-tac-toe champion?
I’d like to be a marginally good chess-player, honestly. It’s such a classy game. I’d wear a bustle skirt and top hat and drink tea while playing chess – marginally well.

Finish the following sentence. If it weren’t for that flying dolphin,  I __________ .
I would’ve gotten away with stealing all these baby pandas.

What is your spirit animal?
The betta fish. Or the rat.

Talk about the music you’ve contributed to the mod, and what your main influences are.
I’ve written a few original songs for Alassea to play, as well as re-arrangements of songs like “Tears of the Hist.” (Love that one, by the way. Huge kudos to the talented composer.)  I do mainly old, acoustic music, inspired by Celtic, medieval and folk tunes. I started singing (very badly) at age 18, and I got my very first instrument, the Celtic pixie-harp, at age 21, and that’s when I started playing as well.

Over the next few years my instrument-collection has grown to include several recorders, two hand-drums, a Kantele, a glockenspiel, an ocarina and several small percussion instruments, like shakers and mouthharps.

The Celtic harp remains my main instrument. As I said earlier, I’ve only been doing this a few years, and I’m entirely self-taught, so the music is still a little clumsy and has a lot of flaws. But I’m learning!

My biggest influence is definitely the American singer/songwriter “Erutan,” who’s also a very good friend of mine. She is the one who encouraged and supported me when I first started, and taught me the basics of mixing and vocal layering. She’s the best, you should totally look her up. Her music is heavenly.

What do you think of your characters, Alassea and Rosalind?
Alassea is a quirky, happy and bouncy mage-bard, who hides the pain of past loss beneath a smile. I find her both very endearing and slightly annoying, but I imagine I’d probably get along with her quite well in real life. She’s very social and seems to have a lot of friends, while I am very introverted and a bit of a recluse. Perhaps she could drag me out of my shell, who knows?

whoaRosalind is a bit more like me. She has a passion for one certain thing, and takes no bullshit from anyone. However, she’s also quite rude to her poor friend Jorrvid! I bet the two are sleeping together behind the scenes.

You’ve been sentenced to live on a deserted island for the next 12 months, as part of your plea agreement for selling bootleg Doritos. In any case, the judge says you have the choice of bringing one of the following:

1) A handgun with a full clip
2) A lighter plus a bottle of fluid
3) A solar-powered, handheld movie player that plays any movie you want provided Samuel L. Jackson is in it.
4) An instructional rain dance book.
What do you take?

I pick number four. Obviously, duh!

If you play Skyrim or fantasy RPGs, what sort of character do you typically role play? What are your favorite games?
I always, always end up playing the sneaky dagger-stab-in-the-dark-thiefy type. Currently I am trying to play a warrior, but end up forgetting my chosen class and end up sneaking around in my silly heavy armour and huge shield.

My favourite games tend to change over time, but my current absolute favourite is Dragon Age: Origins. Other favourite PC games include Bioshock Infinite and Dishonored.  I am also a fan of Final Fantasy X and Shadow of the Colossus for the Playstation 2.

Would you rather have a bazooka for an arm or a crocodile for a foot?
I’d totally have a bazooka for an arm.

Have you played the mod? If so, do you have a favorite character? If not, why are you such a horrible person?
Of course I have, what kind of person do you think I am? How else could I recruit the person I’m voicing and play through the game constantly hearing my own voice? It’s perfect for me and my narcissistic personality disorder.

No, but seriously, it’s great. I really enjoyed speaking with Eldawyn, and also Erevan. (His voice is like honey!) But I play Skyrim so seldom these days, that I probably haven’t even met half of the available NPC’s. I’ll have to get back to you on this one.

Use the phrase “unicorn burger” in a sentence.
Unicorn burgers taste fantastic with rainbow cat puke mayonnaise.

If you play Skyrim and could use one dragon shout in real life, what would it be and why?
I’ll have to pick the Whirlwind Sprint. I’d never be late for the bus again.

What kind of recording equipment and setup do you use? What are some of the difficulties you’ve encountered while recording?
I’ve made my clothes closet into a “studio” by tearing out the shelves and padding the walls with foam to get the best quality in my music-recordings. My microphone is a RODE NT1-A studio mic, and it’s my baby. Always so reliable.

I also use a Lexicon Lambda external soundcard. In the beginning of my recordings, I was too far from the mic, which resulted in an awkward echo in the recording, despite my padded walls. This was solved by staying very close to the mic, though.

You have to sing one karaoke song (and score at least 70 out of 100) to save your life. What do you choose and why?
I think I’d pick “Scarborough Fair,” because it’s a pretty classic, and it has a very simple melody. No wailing. Bigger chance of scoring enough to keep living, y’know.

What sort of roles would you like to do in the future?
I really am not very picky. I’m happy to do any roles that Kris may have for me, but currently I am very much enjoying Alassea. (Recruit her, damnit! She makes jokes!)

Why do people pinch themselves when they might be dreaming? What is there to gain by waking up?
Imagine if you’re dreaming about a huge pile of ice cream that is yours, and only yours – and then you wake up just when you’re about to take a bite. The disappointment will be smaller if you pinch yourself and wake before you get too hopeful!

Plug any other work you’re doing. Where else can people hear your talents?
You can find my awkward music on my Youtube pageas well as my Facebook page.

Send me a nice comment! (Or a horrible one. I never get hate comments. You should probably give me a hate comment.)

Trailers and Teasers – Herran

This is Isaac Silbernberg aka MagnusDux voicing the character Herran. This is part of a quest that I previously scrapped for scripting/mechanical reasons – I just couldn’t make certain ideas happen – but I decided the characters were enjoyable enough that it was better to simplify the quest so you could meet them.

The acting in the last line really captures the essence of this character, as Herran shifts back and forth between melodramatic and avaricious. The one regret I have is that I couldn’t make him fatter, because everyone in the game is sculpted like a Greek God. However, much like my abridged quest, I’m sure there’s a reason for that too.

Trailers and Teasers – Orondil

Jay33721 was one of the first actors to sign up for the mod, and by far one of the most diligent. Unfortunately, a lot of his early work did have some audio quality issues, and we’ve often discussed going back to them once he could got his hands on a new mic. Well, that day has finally arrived. Now the man is going to lock himself in the lab and start re-taking his lines. All of them.

As an added bonus, this also provides an opportunity to modernize Orondil’s dialogue tree, so there’s more role play options, more conditioned dialogue (when I first made the NPC, I didn’t even know how to check if the Stormcloaks had taken over), and more bookmarks. You can stop by for a chat or have an extended conversation, but the choice is yours.

The one thing I couldn’t do was take into account NPCs added by other mods, simply because him being abandoned is central to his story and the Way of the Nine quest. I did try to make the player questions somewhat vague to allow for less immersion breaking dialogue in the event those mods are activated.

In any event, v3.04 should be on track for some major upgrades to old NPCs, as well as a couple new quests, and Meresine fully voiced. With the holidays, it might take longer than expected for the recordings to get done, but I plan on waiting for at least Meresine’s lines before uploading the new version.

In case you didn’t know, Valgus is quite a popular character with the ladies, and while I’d like to think it’s on account of the writing, let’s face it, it’s really the voice. Aranas could be reading a phone book and there would be murals painted in his honor. This one’s very pretty.

Armed with his new mic, Jay is putting in some work, and the old characters are old no more. Added role play options, better audio, and the like. Given I can’t control who you meet first, the mod is only as good as its worst NPC, and with every update the floor gets higher and higher. Thanks to Jay again for re-taking his lines. It helps not only his NPCs, but the ones around him, and every NPC in the mod.

Here is Matthew Dixon voicing Halcar for the new quest, A Thousand Words. As this quest centers around paintings, I have to mention that it wouldn’t be possible without the textures provided by Artisanix here.

I’ve cast all but the last part in this quest, and I should have plenty of auditions coming in for that one as well. This next update is shaping up to be a rather large one, and will include a full overhaul of many characters, and minor changes to both Rumarin and Valgus’ initial encounters. Changes for the better, I assure you.
